What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a natural, holistic therapy, working on the reflex points on the hands and feet, on the basis that each point or ‘zone’ corresponds to a different organ or system in the body. By applying gentle but firm pressure to these points, the flow of Qi (energy field) can be unblocked to stimulate the body’s own natural healing process.
And aside from your personal preferences being taken into account, you’ll also benefit from over 4,000 years of refinement, when it comes to technique, as reflexology was practiced by the Chinese as early as 2300 B.C!
A relaxing treatment that can also help with specific conditions by stimulating the body's own natural healing process.
What should I expect to happen at my appointment?
The first treatment will be a longer hour session to ascertain why you require the treatment and how I can tailor the session for you, based on a holistic approach. Whilst we go through the consultation you will have your feet soaking in a warm calming foot spa, to begin the relaxation as every minute counts!
During the initial consultation, and dependent on your level of sensitivity, a gentler or firmer pressure will be applied during the course of the treatment. A number of different techniques, using the thumbs and fingers, are used, and all areas of both feet and/or hands can be worked on. I will use a natural wax or oils to glide and smooth your skin, calming even the most ticklish of clients.

What is massage?
Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including, muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage Therapy is a healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions. Along with health benefits massage can be a calming therapy to relieve tension and stress in the body and mind.
Massage is recognised as one of the oldest methods of healing, with references in medical texts nearly 4,000 years old.
Hot stone massage uses heated smooth natural basalt stones as an extension of the therapist's hands as they massage. The stones are also placed on parts of the body as you lay on the massage couch to warm and sooth. The heat from the stones enables a more deeper treatment, working into the muscle fibres to relieve aches and pains. This treatment is ideal for sports injuries and problematic areas that are painful and tight. It is also a lovely relaxing massage which will calm and rejuvenate.
Aromatherapy massage is a slow deep treatment, which uses a blend of oils specifically made for you. Using a combination of essential and carrier oils, the blend is absorbed into the skin and the aroma is inhaled while you relax during your massage.
What should I expect to happen at my appointment?
Your initial session will include a consultation to ascertain what type of treatment would benefit you. Either a relaxing full body massage or maybe a more specific session spending time on particular parts of the body that might need more attention and work.
Once I have an understanding of what treatment is best for you, I will leave you to undress down to your underwear, and lay face down on the massage couch, covered in a towel. Once you are comfortable and ready to begin I will return to start the treatment, using natural wax or oils to create a relaxing yet powerful massage.

What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy, also referred to as Essential Oil therapy, can be defined as the art and science of utilising naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonise and promote the health of body, mind and spirit.
Aromatherapy dates back to prehistoric times when Juniper berries were used as an antiseptic and a food flavouring. Evidence shows that plants and herbs have been used for centuries by civilisations for medicinal, culinary and cosmetic purposes.
I studied with the lovely Christina at Aromalyne, blending essential oils for massage and products such as shower gels, misters, inhalers, shampoo, lip balms, moisturisers...the possibilities are endless! I can create natural products, which are vegan and cruelty free, with scientifically proven therapeutic properties for any physical or psychological complaint. Or maybe you would like a beauty product for yourself or to give as a gift for a loved one.
Any product can be made with essential oils, from beauty to therapeutic...the possibilities are endless!

I will then suggest the essential oils I think would be suitable for you and then we will smell the combinations till you are happy with the aroma of the blend.
